While We’re Watching

22.3.26

I’m exhibiting the blue soft buildings I make for Model Village as part of a group show called While We’re Watching1 from 27 March to 5 April 2026.
Posters for print and socials.
This is the first time I will have exhibited Model Village, as you’ll notice there’s quite a jump in time since my last entry. This is because I paused the whole project while navigating through several big life events which all seemed to happen during the same period. Life seems to happen that way, I guess.
Blue soft abstract building models made with re-used materials.
It’s great to return to the project with fresh eyes and input, and the themes that run through it feel more timely now than when I started.
One of the big life events I mentioned has been our move to Bath in Somerset, which happily led to me working a couple of days each week at two of my favourite places for art, design and cultural input: Magalleria2 and Hauser & Wirth Somerset3.
At H&W many of my co-workers are also artists and makers, and in a break between its shows some of us have organised our own show nearby at No.6 Bruton4. The title While We’re Watching perfectly encapsulates our shared sense of observation and dialogue while working there, along with the stories and work that emerge through our different approaches.

Along with the soft buildings, I will also be showing archival pigment prints of my isometric drawings of the buildings. They are printed on Hahnemühle Museum Etching cotton 350gsm and floated in bare oak frames with anti-reflective glass. They are the first of a limited edition and will be available to order (framed or unframed) during the show.
These A6 printed postcards will also be available, with more information about the larger project on the reverse side.
